Biogreenix Ltd is a global company that deals with agro ecological, climate smart and sustainable
agricultural approaches to transform the current unsustainable practices for improved crop production.
Working directly with smallholder farmers in the Sub-Saharan African region, the company's overall goal
is to help farmers cope and adapt to the effects of climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions
through the implementation of sustainable and agro-ecological soil and crop management systems.
With our diverse expertise, the company focuses on the removal of greenhouse gases from the
atmosphere via biomass gasification and carbon sequestration. Our farmers have access to a variety of
biomass, which can be converted into biochar using UN-certified pyrolysis methods. As a result, this will
transform the entire crop production chain, resulting in higher crop productivity and thus reduction in
hunger

SMART FARMING
Sustainable, climate-smart solutions.
The world population is projected to reach 9 billion people by 2050 demanding an increase in
crop production. The said crop increase is challenged by the current and future climate change and
variability trends which pose detrimental effects on yields of major crops. While crop increase in Sub
Saharan Africa has been increased through shift cultivation, this practice is not sustainable firstly due to
its related biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions which will further worsen climate change
effects and secondly due to population pressure. Therefore, the much-needed crop increase will have to
come from existing croplands via the conversion of locally available crop residues as biomass to biochar,
a product that stores carbon and, when applied to soil, improves soil fertility. As a result, the company is
eager to develop new farming technologies while also promoting existing climate-smart systems. The
company is currently developing new biomass pyrolysis kilns that will allow thousands of farmers to
convert biomass crop residues into biochar. The company is currently engaged with consultancy services
in Sub Saharan Africa with a client tell ranging from smallholder farmers to large multi-national
companies and international research institutions and Universities in Africa and Europe.
